2012 sunglasses that may change your life...

Well hello Judges,
My goodness this week seems to be flying , and i cannot believe that we are edging ever closer to the summer months. Bring it on , as then everyday i can wear another one of my ever growing sunglasses collection. There has to be an upside to being optician , and summer sure is one of the best times.
So how has your week been going?.. I have to say mine has been going rather well. I have a party to go to at the weekend... a friend's birthday ,so I am looking forward to letting my hair down. and have a Sauvignon Blanc or 3!. What is your tipple of the moment ?...a friend of mine keeps going on about Pink gin but it always reminds me of politicians during the war years.
I don't know if you happened to read the Mail on Sunday's last week in the' You' magazine. I came across an article that has inspired the next section of this blog. Simply, it grouped together the four main shapes for sunglasses and matched them with designer sunglasses.
So in a way this blog will do the same except go one step further and recommend which face shape suits which trend and not forgetting aviators.
Round sunglasses - These are back with a bang, and are taking over the faces of many up and down the country ranging from small to large frames. Available in various colours but to be ahead of the trend think tortoiseshell for that real authentic/classic look.
Think the Beatles, Liam Gallagher, Hirohito and Gandhi .
Round sunglasses suit people with a strong bone structure, long or oblong face as it helps to soften the sometimes harsh angles.
Labels that really do this trend justice are Balenciaga sunglasses, Bvlgari sunglasses, Gucci sunglasses and Tom Ford sunglasses .
Retro Sunglasses have been coming up trumps, and I have so many genuine retro and also 'newtro' sunglasses this is a look that will never leave, as the colours and shapes are classic and just get a freshen up each season. This season the introduction of tobacco shades and amber makes the new sunglasses look aged and shapes hail from any bygone era, larger frames tend to be taking inspiration from the 60's think Jackie O, Mary Quant, Andy Warhol, Arthur Askey and Harold Lloyd.
The retro sunglass is dependant on shape but if they are more rounded than angled people with square, triangle or oblong face shapes will benefit though people with a heavier set face will benefit from something with more of angle.
Labels to look for to head back to the golden age are:- Oliver Peoples sunglasses, Stella McCartney sunglasses,Giorgio Armani sunglasses and Paul Smith sunglasses .
Cat's eye sunglasses have clawed their way up the fashion pack picks , and scratched the eyes of many editors on the front rows of the shows. The look hails back to the 50's , and with that great shape comes many benefits in the sense of the wider brow line that narrows at an angle to a much smaller base of the lens. This look can be carried of by all face shapes and the look is a very glamorous look think:- Paloma faith, Dita von Teese, the fifties housewife or secretary and not forgetting Dame Edna Everage.
Fancy sunglasses are what can finally be described as sunglasses that are more in your face and bold in statement. Colours rich patterns and quirky or intricate finishing touches. Shapes are varied and range size all that can be said are these are not for someone a person who does not like to stand out from the crowd.
Depending on confidence and shape this is a look that could be carried of by one and all.
Current trend setters are:- The Rizzle Kicks, Tinchie Stryder, Katy Perry,Lady GaGa and Jessie J
Labels that shine to the max are: - Dolce&Gabbana sunglasses , Marc Jacobs sunglasses , Bottega Venetta sunglasses for it's luxury take on this trend, Dior sunglasses, Balenciaga sunglasses for pushing the boundaries.
