A date with Dior

Well Hello Judges,

The weeks are flying by, and all moulding into one. This week so far we have had the nail biting England match and I hate to admit it, but Italy, you were the better side...well done!. Queens club was controversially closed due to David Nalbandian shocking the crowds and injuring one of the linesman with the sponsor boards. Wimbledon has just started, and surprise, surprise...the weather is holding out...so far. Royal Ascot has been and gone, and have to say thank god for the Daily Mail's fashion coverage of some of the state's of dress ...thanks to the new dresscode...... blue spandex and fake boobs look questionable in what is supposed to be a classy affair.

Talking of a class date, we are all looking forward to is the first show by Dior's new man in place Raf Simons. The rumour mill is already wondering and spouting off what the inspiration for his collection will be, and if he will carry it off. Personally, I think Raf will do a sterling job. He has an affinity for design and he will take the Dior back to it's true ethos with his usual modern interpretation .

The Dior sunglasses collection this season is inspired namely by retro shapes , and subtle colours and the staple classic black. Cat's eyes and big shapes are the staple in many collections but Dior are doing what they do best and revisiting the past and spinning it with the new colours. The nude colours are a particular success and the red in Les Marquises Dior Hatuaa are second to none and currently your most favourite and Vogues favourite retro frame.

Today I am feeling mighty fine, and very dandy!

Good morning Judges,

Well this blog is for you Gents out there, or those ladies who take an avid interest in the menswear market. One of the biggest looks to be dominating menswear this season is the look of the 'dandy' with the film adaptation of Dorian Gray with his youthful looks and flamboyant styles.Collars are going anyhow, casual is turning smart on it's head, and denim is a no no. Bottega Veneta....the NEW Chanel...

Well hello Judges,

How the devil are you ? I currently have the radio blaring in the background and am loving the sun coming through the window. The birds sound far too joyous hence the volume being up full on the radio and also one of my current favourite tracks of the moment came on. Gotye is a musical joy rocking a sound that hails back to Peter Gabriel.

My wine glass is long tonight with lots of ice amongst a crisp glass of Pinot, Cheers Judges here's to a long good summer.

I have been trawling through magazines and so many other sources. With this sun I have not been getting square eyed but my head suddenly thought wifi so I am enjoying the sun and am on the decking writing to you. I hope you are not reading this chained to your desk's, if so remember the Judge Say's take five away from your screen every so often to rest your valuable peepers.

Well it's been a little over a couple weeks since I promised a regular men's blog and as to our word this is it. So fellow Judges what is new with you ? We have recently launched the New Prada linear rossa collection, Prada have chosen world champion British boxing star Amir khan to be the face of the collection to show the strength and youthful approach to these classic high performance sunglasses. So what look will you gents be sporting this Season personally I am thinking of the wider legged trouser so much freer and if the sun does come out it's good to have a bit of air circulating isn't it. Trousers in general will still remain slim fitting at the base of the leg but becoming wider around the thighs. Think Downton Abbey, Upstairs Downstairs and not forgetting the Woman in Black... Nostalgia is as big for men this season as it is for women. (add sunglasses type here)

The biggest colour story that is happening this season for you men is a favourite safe hold , whether it is indigo, cobalt, Wedgwood, sky or pastel blue is not only the colour of the waters we are all dreaming of this summer or the sky's we have had a crafty peak at. Blue is not a mood it is the colour of peace and style. Don't just wear it as a single block wear it separate shades or with other colors of the moment. With Gucci life become a fail safe fashion moment of plaid mayhem that of course worked so well in it's monochrome, vision of a summer classically tailored collection will suit all body shapes and most of all add that safe classic twist to a fresh mature look that is still bang on trend. Go Gucci go ........ Just add a preppy twist with a bow tie loafers and Gucci sunglasses

Bah humbug no I have not lost it but the barber set quartet are rocking those stripes so well i have decided to rock it myself ... not just Breton striped tops but the wider candy stripes or even convict stripes .... black or white or blue and white ... go on give it a go ( add sunglasses here and comment) The best thing about stripes are the candy stripes think a stick of humbug rock and back to the days when i strolled down the prom.

Last but not least is the dressier side of menswear this season fabrics that are iridescent in high luxe finishes, satin silks and of course the ever present tonic, don't go rocking the sweaty look sheen is the classy look fine velvet blazers are the way to dress at night.

Monochrome men is still with us too stay but this year try rocking the look with a colour block , blue and black are a good way to bring the two together . Prep it up style guru's and rock the looks with the Judge. One final piece of advice Just choose one or two key pieces and invest in your accessories. With this spring summer think outside your usual safety zones try new things. Come on sod the judgement of others there is only so much time left until we celebrate the 21 of December......

For now all I am off to do a spot of shopping to go with my new sunglasses ( just one of the perks of the job )
