And on the 9th of December they’re officially relaunching their classic 50s designer sunglasses at the New York Bowery Ballroom. To get the party going RayBan has got local up-and-coming artists to recreate classic tunes from the 50s and 60s. Sounds great.

Designer sunglasses hide celeb shame
Thank god Nicole has a pair of big wrap around sunglasses to hide her face and shame behind. Little Miss Rich Girl has either been popping too many pills or is need of some anger management help.
At Charlotte Ronson's New York Fashion Week after-party Nicole apparently completely lost it when a fan tried taking a photo of her. According to the New York Post Richie shouted, "I'm not an animal" then hurdled over the velvet rope, took the camera and smashed it on the ground.
Shame on her and her temper tantrums. Lucky her wrap around glasses were big enough to shield her shame. Once again a pair of Dolce & Gabbana or Prada come to the rescue.

Mirror Mirror on the catwalk
Rather than the usual performance whereby models strutting their stuff down the strip, twirl and walk off, he’s introduced mirrors into the equation providing a totally different effect - and image of his latest fashion offerings.
And one lady who’s been spotted eyeing up his wears is young musician Christina Milian who has been showing off her oh so fashionable Marc Jacobs sunglasses. Now all she has to do is sort out her frock and she’ll be a winner on the fashion circuit.

Rihanna flashes her retro specs
She took the audience by storm last night as she opened the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards and give two amazing performances with rapper TI.
Decked out in a stunning black figure hugging number including a cropped black leather jacket, black jeans with black leather boots and some very cool sunglasses, she sang Umbrella and followed it with a fabulous rendition of her hit Disturbia.
While my singing would be the equivalent to scratching a mirror with a 10 inch nail I'm quite happy to take a tip from the young diva on fashion style. So today, i've decided mainly going to be wearing black and hiding my weekend hangover behind some star-like Diesel Metal retro aviator sunglasses.

80s Microsoft sunglasses break the bank
Yup, that's what someone in America paid on ebay for these um, cough designer sunglasses.
Or could this be a clever ploy by Microsoft to get some publicity? It would make sense, they're about the only people who wouldn't miss that sort of money, and the publicity they'll get for this pair of retro sunglasses could be priceless.
Whatever it is if it's all the same with them i'll stick with my £114 bargain Paul Smith sunglasses. They don't glow in the dark, they won't break the bank and they don't require me to get a bobble perm.

Lindsay Lohan hides behind shades
We're making today a Lindsay Lohan day - a day you can be bad but hide behind the security of your shades.
When Lindsay Lohan’s behaving she’s a very good girl. But when she’s bad there’s no disguising those little red horns.
Thank goodness her favourite designer shades were at hand this weekend when her dad blew another gasket. It’s no surprise really, instead of being at her granddaddy's funeral, young Ms Lohan was out shopping in Manhattan with her new boyfriend Sam Ronson, without a care in the world.
So if you're feeling in a devilish mood do what you want on Lindsay Lohan Day, and hide behind a pair of blackout glasses too. We suggest the Prada SPR 081 black for a chic girlie look or the Diesel DS 0009 wrap around sunglasses for the lads.

“And…It’s a wrap!”
Echoing back to the early 90s, wraparounds are back. Updated, sleek and the ultimate "shades", Carrie Bradshaw would be proud to don a pair.
A personal favourite are these Prada wraps from Send Optics; with a leather look finish and the eponymous embellished logo on the arms which really carry an air of rough edged elegance; fit for wandering the desert as a bohemian or perfect for eyeing up cowboys down Route 66.

Big is Beautiful
Oversized eyewear looks great on all face shapes and is big news this summer.
Whether you’ve had one too many to drink the night before, have had an accessories crisis, or are looking to oomph up an outfit, oversized glasses are an easy solution.
An on-the-street example of easy sleek sophistication, designers have gone crazy for oversize this season. This is largely due to the abundance of space that the broad frames and arms allow in order to accommodate season-specific branding and designers’ logos.
If what you’re after is an immediately identifiable frame, oversized glasses are the way to go. And the wealth of designers with a fantastic offering of this particular style of eyewear this season is simply staggering. Take your pick from Bulgari, Chanel, Dior, Dolce and Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Versace or Yves Saint Laurent - or to save yourself some time, head over to sendoptics.com to peruse them all.
Getting the Hollywood look has never been so easy or so stylish; follow in the fashion footsteps of A-listers Nicole Richie, Sienna Miller, Victoria Beckham and Lindsay Lohan for an overt fashion statement.

Aviators – a Top Gun blast from the past…
Aviator glasses have been pushing at the peripheries of fashion for a few seasons now, and are a welcome throwback from the 80s due to their versatility (unlike puff-ball skirts). Pair your Aviators with some cowboy boots rock-a-billy style, an oversized shirt and chunky belt, or a pretty floral dress for any number of quintessential looks this season.
Designers have really gone to town on reinventing a fashion staple, and Aviators haven’t been so hot for decades. Opt for the classic Aviator by Ray Ban, or venture for something a touch more daring by designers who’ve brought their take on a classic frame to the fore of fashion with some great results.
Ray Ban Aviator sunglasses are very popular amongst celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Renee Zellweger, whilst Clive Owen has been spotted wearing a pair whilst filming a scene for an upcoming movie.
Robert Cavalli, Emporio Armani and Paul Smith’s designs all use the basic style of the Aviator frames but put their own talents into creating some truly original sunglasses.
Roberto Cavalli has created Aviator sunglasses that are truly unique. His use of diamantes and incorporation of the Roberto Cavalli logo into a particular pair of Aviator sunglasses is remarkable and gives this pair a stylish and eye catching appearance. This pair of distinctive frames is available to own here from Send Optics.
Emporio Armani has designed a variety of different Aviator sunglasses. With a range of different colours and lens shades, Emporio Armani Aviator sunglasses are the perfect accessory to finish your look, adding a touch of class to any outfit.

Ray Ban Revolution
You can’t have failed to miss the Ray Ban revolution hitting both the streets and the catwalks again. Everyone from Lily Allen to Penelope Cruz is picking up the world-renowned Wayfarer sunglasses, and it’s really encouraging to see the Wayfarers as an enduring fashion essential.
This is largely due to a helping hand from Hollywood’s golden age. Brought to the world’s attention in 1961 on the inimitable face of Audrey Heyburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the Ray Ban Wayfarer style has failed to age. Instead, its versatility has allowed the Wayfarer to find a way back into contemporary fashion; however, not as vintage eyewear, but instead as an investment essential that will continue to be eternally on trend.
