Cornbury Festival And Big Ideas.

Hello Judges,

Well what a week ! The temperatures have been on the up here in the UK. We have been busy at www.sendoptics.com cheering on Andy Murray who has now sadly bowed out of Wimbledon.

The Cornbury festival is on this weekend with a stellar line up for all the family. The festival itself is a popular family fixture for many, with great bands for everyone. The festival is more accessible to most than Glastonbury. The set that frequent the festival are the yummy mummy set with their trendy kids. Maxi dresses are a must, along with hunter wellies, Barbour and the obligatory sunglasses from www.sendoptics.com.

To stand out in the crowd at Cornbury you want to try.

1 - Bottega Veneta- clear frame with the famous plaited leather effect the house is famous for.

2- Celine Retro for those of you who need a slimmer frame with maximum impact try these for size.

3 - Diormetaleyes 1 - For you true fashion followers this frame has been seen on Lindsay Lohan many a time so we know they are great for covering up the evidence of a late night or two !

4 - Emporio Armani Got to love the young Armani Label crafting quality and style with little quirks great for any holiday or event.

5 - Prada - The Baroque has been turned into a real show piece with encrusted Swarovski crystals. Very Dolly Parton. The frame is a staple favorite with both Beyonce and Rihanna, both of whom have worn all of next seasons trends to death already.

According to Vogue, the biggest news of the moment happens to be in relation to big fashion, not the normal big labels but curves. Many labels are starting to cater for larger sizes. Now with the rise of blogging and social media campaigns, labels are having to adapt or die. blogs such as Girlswithcurves.com are helping to shape a style movement that is fast gaining ground.

You may consider that some sunglasses are not suited to the larger face shape ladies, but think again here is the Judges' guide for buying and wearing your sunglasses.

1 - Consider the width is more than the depth of the actual frame.
Fendi they have the ultimate in frames with a cats eye that is made up of a special unique double acetate. Many options from the king Karl including the 0017, the Iridia 0041 and the 0025.
fendi-spring-2014-campaign14

Miu Miu have the fantastic 10NS for adding angles to the face and instant glamour with style. Miranda Kerr owns the whole collection and constantly reuses these sunglasses. Also consider the Rasoir.

2- Avoid overly round frames as these will make the face look larger. Oliver Peopleshave two sunglasses that would not be suited for a rounded face the Gregory Peck and the Sheldrake

3 - Pronounced cheekbones - avoid anything with a large depth. metal frames have adjustable bridge pads and can help to t the face perfectly. Consider Alexander Mcqueen for adding glamour with showing this rules. Dolce & Gabbana have an excellent catseye that is not too angled but has an a very subtle rounded shallow finish. Other labels such as Celine and Saint Laurent have some strong examples

Welcome to the new designs for 2014.

Hello Judges',

Here at http://www.sendoptics.com  we are busy, busy, busy. Looking at new ranges and models from existing labels, but also keeping tabs on the labels we are going to be stocking this coming year. One label has been revealed already by mistake on another social media post that popped out too early! Remember Judges',we are going to be launching these labels a week earlier to newsletter subscribers so if you are not signed up make sure you are.

Before we do the big reveals, we will be photographing and pricing these new labels to commence the release. The release will be exclusive for the first week to Newsletter subscribers giving you chance to look not only better than your family and friends or even better than your frenemies at the office !

So Menswear fashion weeks have been under way, and now couture week in Paris has just wrapped up until September.

Menswear in London was fun, fresh and forward thinking, with a slight conservative edge to it. Suits cut to their sharp pristine finishes lines, so well formed creating a desirable silhouette for all. Texture against traditional fabrics all in one. Muted colour ways with accents to break up the tones and blocks. Blankets and scarfs. Coats finished with fur effect collars and cut to mid calf.

Burberry was full on sharp tailored with blanket shawls in a new take on the traditional check almost with a nod to Celine's big check coat that rocked the fashion world last season.

Alexander McQueen show had print, precision tailoring, and a dark twist on accessories.... the overall look was like a flashback to a Hitchcock with a punk aesthetic and styling.

Paul Smith presented his collection on a Turkish carpeted runway complete with matching shoes and woven patterns. The collection was sharp and on form the collection will add fun elements to the winter season a true signature of Paul Smith with not only style and bang on trends but a tongue in cheek look to the other sides.

Pringle of Scotland presented a super slick collection of serious fashion with a nod back to their archives of true style that created the house. Pringle is no longer a golf enthusiasts label but a true label for the serious fashion insider.

Well Judges', we are excited about what is to come in 2014 with the launch of  new labels that are more directional and edgy. Consider these new labels a fixture for what is to come. For updates on this sign up to our newsletter for news on frames and special offers to subscribers.

As a welcome to the new year we have reduced the prices of Paul Smith, Oliver Peoples and Stella McCartney a chance for you to add a new look for less from www.sendoptics.com this offer finishes on the 31st of January 2014.

Here's to 2014, from Sendoptics.com.

Well, happy new year, fellow Judges'.
We here at Sendoptics towers are starting to get excited about all the latest brands and models we are launching over the next few weeks.
2013 has seen Celine rise like a phoenix, going out into the stratosphere.
Favoured by the glitterati, such as Alexa Chung, seen below wearing the new 2014 model CL 41055 Papillon , that is one of the new popular styles for 2014
The style is reminiscent of Bardot in the 1950's early 60's, with a modern 21st centry twist. we have in stock at the moment the dusty pink which is absolutely gorgeous, but we will be getting the full compliment of colours over the coming weeks. This model is going to be HUGE, so get your pre-orders in now.
The sunglasses for this season are quite bold colour block sunglasses, with minimal logo, if any at all being present, leaving the styling to speak for itself. The sunglasses are very acetate driven agin this season, with only the finest Italian acetate being used. You can actually feel the quality when you touch  and feel them.
One major fashion house is re-launching itself in march, and we will be heavily featuring them over the coming weeks.
We are launching a French brand , hopefully this month , which is featured heavily in the British Vogue, Grazia , and Wallpaper , to name just 3. The sunglasses are just absolutly stunning, and are predominately female, however, there are around 5 models for us men...just you wait!
Another brand is an Italian/German brand, which is predominately male, that are so stylish and distinctive, they are also being launched at Dover street market
So keep informed fellow Judges' , and join our newsletter , our Facebook page or Twitter to keep informed of all the cool brands, and discount codes for flash sales we have.
At the moment, until 31/01/14 we have £40.00 off the price of ALL

The party's over, and september is fast approaching...

Well hello there,
Well Judges I know I have been quiet for the past couple of weeks, and I do appologise for this, but if you have visited www.sendoptics.com in the past week you will have seen what we have been doing instead. That is right.... we have finally completed all of the changes to the website and are currently working on a few other things to make the site even better.
The Olympics in London finished just past midnight last night, and what a fantastic games it has turned out to be. Who could believe that all those doubting Thomas's at the start of the games could now have become buzzing with the Union spirit. Congratulations to Team GB for inspiring a nation and help lifting our spirits and providing such great entertainment. Have to say...what was the highlight of the closing ceremony for you? the 'jigsaw' John lennon face? The Who? Jessie J ?...errrr The Spice Girls?!!!... Kate Moss, et al were stunning...but what they were doing there heaven knows!!
I have to say Judges, I was a little unsure of Stella Mccartneys Team GB kit, but after seeing it for the last couple of weeks I have totally changed my mind, and am considering changing my running kit. Well come along now, it is not long until Rio.
Judges'... it's that time of year where Fashion magazines are hitting the shelves of bookstores and newsstands, and each year the September issues of the glossy elites and this year they will be no doubt cram packed full of Designers desperate to take on the collections that will take us through the next quarter.. Will you be sporting the English eccentric look..... a mix of glammed up 'country chic'... think Paul Smith and Stella Mccartney. Rocking the full on over embelished and love of velvet that Baroque will bring to both Mens and womens wardrobes this year look at Prada, Miu Miu, Dolce and Gabbana and even Swarovski. Fans of Prada Baroque collection will have noticed the likes of Solange Knowles( sister of Beyonce) rocking out with her Minimal Bartoque sunglasses along with Rhianna and Lady Gaga.
Androgony in womenswear is a big influence.;.. with the recession, hem lines are attacking the ankles this winter, and trousers will be extra wide ... look back at the likes of Yves st laurent and his smoking trousers and Armani's staple palazzo pants, the Great Gatsby, and not forgetting Marlene Dietrich. Accesorise the look with heavy frames in black or tortoisehell - Oliver peoples Bernardo and Oliver peoples Sheldrake. Armani's offering of the frames of life in the heavy round frames or even rimless will add the masculine twist to even the most femenine outfits.
The weather this year has so far this year been rather hit and miss, though saying that, this weekend the weather here has been too good to be hauled up in my flat. I am off for a run and then for a bite to eat.
Judges keep 'em peeled and enjoy the closing ceremony
Please keep letting us know what you think of the site and if you feel we are missing anything. Thank you for sticking with us and your patience and remember www.sendoptics.com is as much your site as ours.
The Judge

50 Shades Of Grey

Hello Judges',
Well the spectacle that was the opening ceremony of the Olympics has been and gone and what an interesting night it turned out to be, celebrating all the great and good of the U.K. throughout the ages. The ceremony was watched by at least a staggering 20million British viewers. I for want of a better word was extremely impressed and proud of the show.

On Saturday I was quietly reading the  Daily Telegraph when an article caught my eye called 'silver fox or just plain grey'. The article entered the debate about age appropriate dress and how to shop for your age if you are 45 or older. I sat their thinking about this ....should I no longer shop in Zara, Selfridges or numerous designers that are featured in young and happening magazines …. Am I too old to wear what the man on the street does?
In the article there was also a quiz to find out what type of 'Mr Grey' you are. Now, no offence, it was clear that like everything the creator of said quiz ...does not get out much with a list of three labels. I knew my answer before I started , and fixed my answers. Come on Judges'... we all do it. So I am a Trussardi wearing Oliver peoples sunglasses man with impeccable style. So Judges', have you seen the soloist collection by Oliver peoples  ?. The sunglasses are extremely popular with the Far East. Oliver peoples sunglasses are great with just about any look . If you love retro styles choose Oliver peoples.

I think they missed off the likes of Paul smith to be honest his tailoring and accessories  create a man and a look that is effortless and quintessentially British. The Paul smith sunglasses collection this summer has been extremely popular in the U.K and also in USA .Elson and Chaucer both proving popular with young and the older customer here at www.sendoptics.com . The range looks good with sharp tailoring through to jeans and Bretton stripes or just a crisp white shirt.

Prada continues to shine and the Olympics seems to have sparked an interest in thePrada Linea Rossa sunglasses (Prada sport) line . These are high quality sports frames for general use and specialised use in sailing and the whole of the Italian sailing team have been given these to sport and bring them luck. If your look is that of a sporty gent about town these frames are definitely for you.

With that Judges' I am back glued to my tv to continue to watch the coverage.

Now Judges before I do sign do not forget about our exciting news of our New look that we have launched and even if I do say so myself it looks great.

This new look would not have been possible without all of your comments and feedback.
So remember keep’em peeled and keep your comments flowing

More Celebrations with Oliver Peoples.

Good day Judges,
I hope this reaches you well and rested after the long bank holiday and all the Jubilee celebrations wherever in the world you are. For Oliver Peoples, the celebrations are all set to begin this weekend with them celebrating there own milestone... 25 years of supplying the world with their own twist on retro with modern materials.
The Oliver Peoples label began back in 1986 with two gentlemen, Larry and Dennis Leight, in West Hollywood, selling retro frames... and have risen to grace the covers of countless fashion magazines. Oliver Peoples sunglasses are now considered to be amongst the top of the range sunglasses , and are permanent fixtures on the faces of Johnny Depp,Elijah wood, Rob Lowe, Brangelina,Jay Z,Robert Downey Jnr and of course not forgetting everyone's A list clothes horse Rhianna ( God, I would love some of her cast offs at the moment.. that girl must have more wardrobe space than a rugby field).
The Leight brothers began to amass a collection of genuine Hollywood pasts ophthalmics and began to turn their attention to developing their own frames, and change them into sunglasses. In 1994 Oliver Peoples were requested to develop the Optical range for Paul Simth sunglasses and eyewear, possibly one of the biggest accolades to date. The future for Oliver Peoples looks rosy , and with collaborations and a rich back catalogue of styles to continue to work, with no doubt the stars of the future will love this whole star studded look.
Judges'... so how are you finding this rather drab June ...? Firstly, the Bank holiday was a total wash out,and now the wind is making the temperature feel closer to October. Have no fear though, the Judge is fully equipped ready for the onset of Euro 2012 for England first match on Monday so good luck lads....well a 1-1 draw with France isn't as bad as I was expecting.. The team will be wearing suits supplied by Paul Smith for their official engagements off the Pitch.
Well Judges I have a date with the sofa and a good book
So for now in my Oliver Peoples Sheldrakes, Beckham sweatpants, white t shirt and big socks I will be chilling to the max.
Have a great couple of days and keep Judging
Don't forget to get in touch if there is anything you wish to see in the blog, or on the site ...together we can change the way people see us. Do not forget www.sendoptics.com is home for fashion led sunglasses. Non-Eu customers also get them duty free (A further 20% off)

Because we Cannes, Cannes, Cannes.....

Well hello Judges,
Its lights ,camera, action time.... you got it Judges', it’s the 65th annual Cannes film festival. My favourite place in the Med’ is playing host to the films that we will be watching throughout the forthcoming year.
Kelly Brooke has certainly been wowing the crowds in her, how do I say, beautiful and eye-catching outfits. Last night saw Miss Brooke in a floor length white jacket with a black leotard and sky scraper heels, completing her outfit was Dior cat eye sunglasses 'les maitrise', transforming the beauty into a siren from the 50’s.
Brad Pitt is there to promote his latest film' killing me softly ',and was seen in both Balenciaga tuxedo and Balenciaga sunglasses which were Aviators . Who said American actors, always play safe. Brad is officially my style hero.
I am sat here in the office in between patients', writing today ,and everyone is just complaining about the heat. We Brits are never happy!!! It was only a few days ago we were all sick of the cold and rain. This Judge most certainly loves the arrival of British Summertime. I have a dilemma now though.... which of the 17 pairs of sunglasses do I wear???
This dilemma has made me wonder how many pairs of sunglasses do you Judges' own? How do you wear your sunglasses and for what reason?
You may have noticed Judges', on Sendoptics.com that we have launched Alexander McQueen sunglasses and also the wonderful French label Celine sunglasses . We are having a great time at the moment and are currently awaiting new styles from Jonny Depp’s favourite Oliver Peoples sunglasses and Tag Heur sunglasses and everyone’s favourite Prada sunglasses and Miu Miu sunglasses .
Well my Judges thank you for your time and enjoy the sun!
Stays safe in the strong summer sun , and remember SPF and Sunglasses is a staple in the sun.
Do not forget, if you get 25 people to 'like' us on facebook...send optics 92 separate words), we will give you an extra £20 off the discounted price, and anyone living outside europe get them duty-free, so saving an additional 20%!!!!.. How can you refuse!

What a week it has been for Dior!

Hello Judges,
Well what a weekend in the world of fashion it has been. Dior continues to intrigue the world of fashion with Raf Simons upcoming couture show headlining the shows in July. Either way I predict that the show itself will dominate this season with his vision of how couture should be.. Hopefully with his usual quirks and use of colour injecting a new look for Dior again.
Like the 'Les Marquis collection' of sunglasses adding a new look to the faces of many fashion conscious ladies. Alternatively, ladies and gents give the new luxury label with strong Italian roots a chance to grace our faces ....Bottega Veneta sunglasses .
Other fashion news appears to be the ongoing debate for men's trends. Do we go sports tastic for the Olympics wearing the likes of Tag Heur sunglasses with their exclusive high grade lenses ideal for all different activities including funnily enough driving with there low light night lenses...... or pack a punch with Prada Linea Rossa sunglasses. Altenatively do we continue to rock the American prep trend and complete the look with Johnny Depp's and Robert Downey Jnr favourite label Oliver Peoples sunglasses or Paul Smith sunglasses for the ultimate in cool.
Well, last weekend I celebrated my birthday with my friends with a few drinks and too much cake. Some quality tracks from the years and too much wrapping paper strewn over the floor on Sunday morning. One of my friends discovered my latest find that will be coming to the site very soon! So keep em peeled for a few new labels one well known making a welcome return and another new to me but the style is too cool for Skool !.
I have to say Sunday appeared to be like travelling back to early January with the Wind, Rain and of course the freezing temperature. So with nothing else to do I went over to the cinema to watch my first Polish film, not only a first but with a reactive gentleman with a colourful imagination and even more colourful use of the English Language whenever there was an explosion made for a second first. A film of serious content becoming the most hilarious thing to happen in a long time ...Roll on when i get to tell a couple of my friends about this. Totally surreal....a Polish war film about espionage and a guy in the audience with Tourettes!
If you like this blog ,keep up to date with photos, news and promotions on our facebook page ...send optics (2 separate words) . 'Like' us and be informed all about new product launches, flash sales and competitions to win great sunglasses! Remember, sendoptics.com is the home for discounted designer sunglasses .
So until next time When i will be telling you some more interesting fashion titbit's.
Keep 'em, peeled ,

2012 sunglasses that may change your life...

Well hello Judges,
My goodness this week seems to be flying , and i cannot believe that we are edging ever closer to the summer months. Bring it on , as then everyday i can wear another one of my ever growing sunglasses collection. There has to be an upside to being optician , and summer sure is one of the best times.
So how has your week been going?.. I have to say mine has been going rather well. I have a party to go to at the weekend... a friend's birthday ,so I am looking forward to letting my hair down. and have a Sauvignon Blanc or 3!. What is your tipple of the moment ?...a friend of mine keeps going on about Pink gin but it always reminds me of politicians during the war years.
I don't know if you happened to read the Mail on Sunday's last week in the' You' magazine. I came across an article that has inspired the next section of this blog. Simply, it grouped together the four main shapes for sunglasses and matched them with designer sunglasses.
So in a way this blog will do the same except go one step further and recommend which face shape suits which trend and not forgetting aviators.
Round sunglasses - These are back with a bang, and are taking over the faces of many up and down the country ranging from small to large frames. Available in various colours but to be ahead of the trend think tortoiseshell for that real authentic/classic look.
Think the Beatles, Liam Gallagher, Hirohito and Gandhi .
Round sunglasses suit people with a strong bone structure, long or oblong face as it helps to soften the sometimes harsh angles.
Labels that really do this trend justice are Balenciaga sunglasses, Bvlgari sunglasses, Gucci sunglasses and Tom Ford sunglasses .
Retro Sunglasses have been coming up trumps, and I have so many genuine retro and also 'newtro' sunglasses this is a look that will never leave, as the colours and shapes are classic and just get a freshen up each season. This season the introduction of tobacco shades and amber makes the new sunglasses look aged and shapes hail from any bygone era, larger frames tend to be taking inspiration from the 60's think Jackie O, Mary Quant, Andy Warhol, Arthur Askey and Harold Lloyd.
The retro sunglass is dependant on shape but if they are more rounded than angled people with square, triangle or oblong face shapes will benefit though people with a heavier set face will benefit from something with more of angle.
Labels to look for to head back to the golden age are:- Oliver Peoples sunglasses, Stella McCartney sunglasses,Giorgio Armani sunglasses and Paul Smith sunglasses .
Cat's eye sunglasses have clawed their way up the fashion pack picks , and scratched the eyes of many editors on the front rows of the shows. The look hails back to the 50's , and with that great shape comes many benefits in the sense of the wider brow line that narrows at an angle to a much smaller base of the lens. This look can be carried of by all face shapes and the look is a very glamorous look think:- Paloma faith, Dita von Teese, the fifties housewife or secretary and not forgetting Dame Edna Everage.
Fancy sunglasses are what can finally be described as sunglasses that are more in your face and bold in statement. Colours rich patterns and quirky or intricate finishing touches. Shapes are varied and range size all that can be said are these are not for someone a person who does not like to stand out from the crowd.
Depending on confidence and shape this is a look that could be carried of by one and all.
Current trend setters are:- The Rizzle Kicks, Tinchie Stryder, Katy Perry,Lady GaGa and Jessie J
Labels that shine to the max are: - Dolce&Gabbana sunglasses , Marc Jacobs sunglasses , Bottega Venetta sunglasses for it's luxury take on this trend, Dior sunglasses, Balenciaga sunglasses for pushing the boundaries.
Whichever of the trends you Judges' choose to rock you, can be sure www.sendoptics.com has something for everyone, I have recently increased our discounts to you and made sure that we are the most competitive that we have ever been.
Tell your friends ,your gran ,or your worst enemy where to find those discounted designer sunglasses that are 100% genuine and come direct from the Judge to you.
Keep 'em peeled, and remember we have two new lines to introduce soon......
Thanks as ever,
The Judge .

Sir Paul Smith takes over the world!.....

Hello Judges,
How the devil are you on this fine day, all good I hope !
Well here at the optician's I have to say we are maxed out on Sunglasses .For once we have taken full delivery of all this years stock and are pleased with the results. For yet another year looking back to what I ordered late last year it appears the Judge's eye was right with the choices. A fellow Optician is reporting slow sales and is wishing he had got on the Bottega Veneta sunglass wagon before it left last year. You Judges seem to know what you like on the website ...we are having a flurry of orders coming through from Europe and London for Balenciaga sunglasses and Bottega Veneta sunglasses .....the fashion capital knows it's stuff.
Paul smith seems to hold no boundaries when it comes to his massive empire. Recently Paul Smith announced and launched his collaboration with British Surf label Swami, not only that but his store in the big apple on 5th avenue celebrated it's 25th birthday. Seems the U.S. still have an affinity for us Brit's and our style.
Most recently though Sir Paul celebrated another coupe with the opening of his store in Amsterdam. Holland appears to love us all too. Paul Smith's S/S12 latest menswear collection incorporates Psychadelic prints with traditional tailored twists the collection is a man's dream and with the latest Paul smith sunglasses collection remaining transparent or in strong neutral or monochromes there is no chance these will take away from this vibrant style only compliment it.
Nottingham born Paul Smith not only still loves his home town but does various collaborations with the local council including branding and design of product for their visitors. I love Paul Smith Eye wear and have several pairs of sunglasses and prescription ophthalmics.
I am off to don my stripey scarf and close up for the day, so Judges keep 'em peeled !
Stay safe and look out for another blog in a day or two
Keep 'em peeled,

The Judge

Dolce and Gabbana rocks.......

Hello , and I hope you have had a pleasant Easter My fellow Judges,
All the foil wrappers and the remnants of the chocolate overload all disposed of I hope. I am currently writing this on the sofa with the grey clouds scudding outside. At least the birds are a little quieter at 4 am ! So what is new with you Judges' ? Did you get out and about like many of the Brit's who took to the motorways and sky over the break? If so, I do hope you had a great time wherever you went.
At the opticians and also on the website I can safely say that the bank holiday blip in the Summer has not stopped a glut of activity and purchasing.... thank goodness the post office is back open so I can send these off. It seems Stella McCartney sunglasses and Prada designer sunglasses are still top sellers off the website. In store it seems to be a mixture of Balenciaga sunglasses, Paul Smith sunglasses and Oliver Peoples sunglasses.
I am not sure if any of you read the Saturday Telegraph on 07/04/12 , they had the most intense cover shot from behind the scenes with the Italian Duo Dolce & Gabbana. The majority of the article is illustrated with their forth coming A/W12 collection which is a Sicilian take on the Baroque trend that is emerging a strong contender for A/W12.
This look is perfect for the explosive Duo and shows there strengths with strong shapes in flattering feminine shapes, with heavy gilded style patterns, lashings of lace, heavy needlepoint inspired floral shocks amongst a heavy background of black and cream. The collection is one of the strongest in many a year and nods back to Dolce & Gabbana's show stopping collection in '92 La Dolce Vita which is one of the collections that is responsible for hurtling the Duo to the forefront of feminine glamour and dramatic dressing.
Alongside this collection the current trend for lace is inspired by period drama's, a sense of more opulent times and of course the ultra feminine look that is seeing a surge on the high street.
We do have a limited stock of the exquisite Dolce & Gabbana Sunglasses from last season that will dress up any outfit to bring it to the height of style. The sunglasses are a large frame in various colours and have been made using a special technique of laser cut lace then impregnated into an acetate to make what can only be described as a stylish contradiction. Technology versus tradition, Judges all i can say is if it's a purchase for yourself or a loved one the Dolce & Gabbana designer sunglasses collection will have you looking on top form in the style stakes.
For now Judges I am off to run a bath and catch up with some ancient aliens ( my new addiction )
Ciao for now

Bare faced cheek!

The Bare faced cheek

Well so far 2012 is bring us a wealth of varying trends and it seems anything goes in relation to sunglasses as long as the main principles are followed. This year sunglasses are going more retro than ever before with shapes reflecting shades from the 1800’s and the swinging sixties from Downtown and W.E. to Boardwalk Empire and the latest offering from BBC inspired by the on/off relationship between David Bailey and Jean Shrimpton ‘we’ll take Manhattan’.
The future is as round as the globe and angles are more subtle with simple sweeps of edges rather than the sharp angles of previous years.
This trend will compliment the look of outifts that are being presented for A/W12 with the likes of Alberta Ferretti in her roaring 20’s inspired high luxe collection with more than just a nod towards Erte’s great illustrations. Dolce&Gabbana’s Baroque inspired menswear collection and Prada who is re-visiting the land of gentry in Muccia’s subtle love of the classic man in her unique twist.
Colourwise in the collections of sunglasses nude is a hot look though some may say a little impractical, think gold and of course clear and the sexiness of tobacco/amber ( who ever said smoking was bad for you never saw Paul smith)
Description: Paul Smith Chaucer PM8162 olive tortoise Paul smith-Chaucer PM8162 Olive/Brown

So come on all let’s rebel against the austerity packages and cheer ourselves up with some high lux wear and think sod the saving we may all be gone by 21.12.12 but at least we look frigging amazing.
Also look out gold this season in sunglases is more a subtle matte tone rather than the shiny yellow look of the past so come on let’s embrace it and stay cool.

Also don’t forget to keep ‘em peeled for our new lines coming by the end of January where we hope you will be as pleased by the offerings as us…….

Looking to the US for tips on how to be cool.

We here at sendoptics.com are currently busy bees buzzing around finishing writing up the descriptions and and photographing the final lines of designer sunglasses we are going to be adding. So Judges', keep them peeled as they will be on before you know it and we are really looking forward to launching two very cutting edge brands.

So what is happening with you Judges'?. We are getting lots of feedback and are fast acting upon it and still building other elements to the sites around some of these really helpful titbits you keep feeding us, of course, like you Judges' who keep on reading this blog we are always hungry for more. Please use the contact us form for any feedback you wish to continue sending in. We love to hear from you.

Well what else is going down on the streets we hear you ask?. Well, at the moment our eyes are peeled for the next BIG thing, and so this time the Fashion pack takes us over the pond to the Big Apple. Yup, 'pardner' you got it, its another crazy yellow taxi riding (no Danny Devito unfortunately), Prozac ridden chain smoking New York fashion week; I hear you asking what the hell do you Judges' keep on going on about fashion weeks for...well, when looking for who to stock, we like to know the whole look, not just the sunglasses.

So, New York fashion week, what's it all about we hear you cry!. Apart from the glut of the fashion world Anna Wintourn and of course some of the biggest names known to the fashion world. Our American counterparts are responsible for single handedly creating our obsession with Branding and creating some of the worlds most well known superbrands.

America also has a more conservative and classier side which reflects back to it's glamourous Hollywood era of yesteryear. On www.sendoptics.com we currently have two major players in the sunglasses/optics market, these being Oliver Peoples and Tom Ford. Oliver Peoples we have been referring to in the past, so we thought we would give you some bitesize pieces of information.

Oliver Peoples - The L.A. based company is famous for its timeless collection of sunglasses. The company has a massive archive of frames ranging from early 20th century onwards which it uses as reference to all its collections. Oliver Peoples began life in 1986 on Sunset Boulevard selling American vintage sunglasses but they soon began designing for the present with a strong nod to the past for inspiration. The company has a strong anti-branding image and believes in subtlety and quality.

High points for Oliver Peoples collections are the round 1950's optics/sunglasses range and the square aviator. The round shapes from the 50's is bang on trend for this year so Judges' check out...model Sheldrake

Tom Ford - Last year saw a massive leap into the limelight for Tom with his directional debut being praised to high heavens. Tom Ford reinvented the Gucci label and placed it firmly back on the map. Tom Ford is world renowned for his minimalist approach to fashion and again does not believe in the heavy branding that so many of the American Designers believe is a staple of their ethos.

His sunglasses are recognisable by the innovative 'T' hinge and the Tom Ford name is only visible behind your ears. Like his clothing the sunglasses are coverted by the fashion world and celebrities alike. E.G. the iconic Jennifer

So for you Judges' who did not know much about Oliver Peoples and Tom Ford we hope you know them a little more. Both labels are classic and contemporary with an ultra luxury feel and highly innovative little finishes.

Keep the peeled,

The Judge.
